This New Jersey man was trying to turn $0.01 into a supercar – and managed to get himself a luxury car.

YouTuber JD Montclair had traded his way to a Lexus LC500, starting off with a penny.

Going through some Versace cologne and a pair of sandals, he’d eventually landed himself a Ford Focus.

That’s not to say the car was without its problems – JD had a whole host of them to deal with.

This New jersey man turned $0.01 into a supercar

JD Montclair had a plan to turn $0.01 into a supercar, and it wasn’t exactly straightforward.

Through a series of trades, he would land himself with a Ford Focus.

Those trades included men’s cologne, a pair of Beats headphones, an Atari console, and even a pair of Birkenstocks.

But even when he got a hold of the Ford Focus, that wasn’t the end of the journey.

The plan was to sell the Focus and use the money from that sale to get the dream supercar.

But there was work to do before that, as the Focus hadn’t been vacuumed in 10 years.

“Although this was disgusting, I got to say it was a little bit satisfying,” JD said.

We’ve seen a lot of satisfying clean-ups in our time – this dirty Rolls-Royce springs to mind.

There was a ton of stuff to sift through in the car, including old manuals, stickers, wallets, and Pokémon cards.

Those cards proved handy in raising some funds for the next step of the process.

Ultimately, he wasn’t able to meet the goal of securing a supercar within seven days, but that wouldn’t be the end of the story.

A Lexus LC500 was still within reach.
