A New Jersey owner has let his $5,000 robot clear his massive driveway, while he stays cosy indoors drinking coffee during Winter Storm Fern in the US.

In a story shared by the New York Post, Tom Moloughney, a northern New Jersey resident, has posted videos on X showing his Yarbo snow blower clearing his 6,000-square-foot driveway.

Moloughney, who is also the creator of the YouTube channel State of Charge, put his robotic cleaner to good use after snow and icy temperatures hit the Garden State.

With the snow blower doing its work, Moloughney could sit inside and relax, drinking a hot cup of coffee and see how the clearing unfolded.

The robotic snow blower cleared the massive driveway

Videos posted on Moloughney’s X account showed the Yarbo snow blower in action.

Moloughney said that the robot would do about 1.25 hours of work before it went to recharge itself.

After that, the robot would head back out on its own to complete the work.

The videos posted by Moloughney were impressive to watch, and you can catch them below.

Viewed several hundred thousand times, the robot completed its first pass before heading back to recharge.

After this, it then went straight back out again.

Moloughney said, “This is going to be a great test to see if this robot can handle a 6,000 sq.ft. driveway during a major winter storm.”

The storm tested the robot to the limit

While Storm Fern might have dropped a lot of snow, it didn’t seem to bother the Yarbo.

The little robot put in several amazing stints clearing the massive 6,000-square-foot driveway.

Although it costs $5,000, it appears to be money well spent by Moloughney.

The YouTuber said that it would keep going until the drive had been cleared twice.

He would then send it back out again and keep doing so until Winter Storm Fern had stopped.

Keeping it running meant the snow on the driveway was much more manageable.

It prevented the snow from building up again to a level that made the drive unpassable.

Moloughney also said that, as it can handle 12 inches of snow, the robot should keep things manageable.

There is something very satisfying about watching this little machine go about its snow-clearing duties.
