This guy in New Jersey wasn’t expecting this Mercedes SLR McLaren to come with an extra ‘gift’ worth $20,000.
The car itself isn’t cheap, with an average market value of hovering around the $200,000 mark.
This one cost its owner $235,000.
And the extra secret that’s worth $20,000 that comes with it is like the icing on top of the cake.

George Saliba from JS Auto Haus group, a dealer in New Jersey, had a conversation with a Mercedes SLR McLaren owner and a man who claims the have the largest collection of SLR memorabilia.
The SLR McLaren was unveiled in 2003 and, as the name suggests, it was a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and McLaren.

But there was another collaboration few people know about.
At the time, Mercedes teamed up with TAG Heuer, a watch brand, to launch a series of timepieces inspired by – and dedicated to – the car.
Only 3,500 pieces were made in total, and here’s the kicker: you were only allowed to buy the watch if you actually owned the car.
Today, this watch is worth around $20,000 in the market, and it isn’t that easy to find.

Watches and cars often go hand in hand.
In recent years, Jacob & Co. created several timepieces as a tribute to different Bugatti hypercars, including models with tiny, working replicas of the W16 engine that powers the hypercar itself.
Then there’s Breitling, which has long-standing partnerships with Bentley and Triumph.
Another brand worth mentioning is Richard Mille.
The independent Swiss manufacturer is regularly working with both brands, including Ferrari and McLaren, as well as individual athletes.
Tennis legend Rafa Nadal, for example, is a seasoned Richard Mille collector and brand ambassador.
