New Jersey YouTuber shatters record for world’s shortest Uber ride and it'll almost certainly never get beaten

A YouTuber who claimed and then quickly lost the record for the world’s shortest Uber ride has won his title back and reckons this time around it won’t be beaten.
Content creator Sam Beres, also known as Sambucha, took a 3cm (equivalent to about 1.18-inch) Uber ride a few months back.
The super-short journey, if you can even call it that, was enough to land him a Guinness World Record.
But his record was short-lived.

He attempted to travel just 1cm in the Uber
Just months after Sam claimed the title, Australian content creator Jon Wyeth managed to outdo him.
Jon traveled a teeny tiny 2cm (about 0.7 inches) in his Uber, claiming the title for himself.
After Sam found out he had been beaten, he decided to attempt to get his record back by traveling just 1cm (0.3 inches) – but would such a short distance even be possible?
In a clip uploaded to Instagram, Sam hailed an Uber, and the unsuspecting driver, Jeffery, arrived.
Sam quickly filled Jeffery in on the record attempt and asked him if he would be willing to help out, which he was.
So, Sam bust out his ruler and some chalk and drew some guidelines on the ground to show the distance the Uber would need to travel to claim the title – and yes, it was very, very short.
With the lines drawn, Sam hopped into the Uber and told Jeffery to ‘drive one centimeter’.
Of course, with such a short distance, it wasn’t actually driving.
Jefferey simply lifted his foot off the brake ever-so-slightly to allow the Uber to gently roll forward.
Sam then jumped out of the car and checked how far it had moved.
Incredibly, Jefferey and his Uber had managed to ‘shatter’ the record, moving just 0.5cm (a little over 0.1 inch).

So, not only did Sam manage to travel a shorter distance than the previous record holder, but he also covered less ground than he had planned to.
In fact, the YouTuber reckons that the 0.5cm ride might be unbeatable.
He said that after doing some research online, he discovered that the shortest distance a vehicle could actually move is 0.5cm, meaning that his record could stand the test of time.
