The Toyota Prius has been given a fresh new look for the Nightshade Edition and it makes the hybrid look pretty darn cool.
When you think of the Toyota Prius, you probably think of words like ‘eco-friendly’, ‘reliable’, ‘green’, and ‘dependable’.
But now the Nightshade Edition is here to prove that the hybrid can also be cool.
The slick update features 19-inch black-finished alloy wheels, black badging, and a range of exterior color options including Midnight Black Metallic.

Toyota’s Nightshade Edition is already available on other models, including the Camry.
Now, the marque has unveiled the 2026 Toyota Prius Nightshade Edition and it’s a much bolder-looking model than we’ve seen before.

“For 2026, Toyota is introducing the Prius Plug-in Hybrid Nightshade Edition – a bold new chapter in the Prius lineup that fuses sleek sophistication with an unmistakable edge,” the carmaker said.
The Nightshade Edition is built on the XSE trim, but it’s worlds apart from your stock-standard Prius thanks to its black accents across the door sills, newly styled door handles, and bumper trim.
“Every detail has been meticulously crafted to create a cohesive and aggressive look,” the marque added.
The car is available in a choice of three colors: Karashi, Wind Chill Pearl, and Midnight Black Metallic.
Inside, the sleek and slick theme continues and you’ll find a futuristic cockpit with black fabric seats with red trim, a carbon fiber dashboard, a leather trimmed heated steering wheel, and plenty of tech including an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen.
The Nightshade Edition offers a 40–mile all-electric driving range rating and has three drives modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport.

Toyota says the car is good for a very impressive 52 miles per gallon combined. The Prius is actually a world record holder when it comes to fuel economy.
As well as the Nightshare Edition, the 2026 Prius will be offered in SE, XSE, and XSE Premium.
Prices start at $33,775 for the SE and go up to $40,470 for the XSE Premium model.
The Nightshade Edition will set you back $37,795.
But, as many Prius owners will be quick to tell you, you’ll save quite a bit on running costs compared to a fully gas-powered vehicle.
