A study has found that nine out of 10 EV owners are happy with the switch and won’t be going back to a gas-powered vehicle in the future.
It seems that while many motorists are still on the fence about making the change from ICE to EV, when they do swap they’re generally pleased with their decision.
A recent study from South Korea found that although many motorists had some initial concerns, the vast majority will be sticking with an electric vehicle for their next purchase.
The results are similar to a 2025 US study, which also found most electric car owners won’t be going back to a gas-powered vehicle.

Nine out of 10 EV owners are planning to stick with electric
In recent months and years we’ve seen huge changes when it comes to EVs, from next-generation five minute charging to the record-smashing Porsche Taycan.
In fact, one report claims that one in four cars sold this year will be EVs, with China and Norway leading the way when it comes to EV adoption.

For those who are still unsure whether to make the change or not, it might be interesting to learn that a study from the South Korean company Consumer Insight found that 86.1 percent of EV owners – a little under nine out of 10 – ‘will purchase an electric vehicle as [their] next vehicle.
The study said the main concerns motorists had before going all-electric included driving range, charging speed, and charging infrastructure.
However, the vast majority who put those fears aside were more than happy with the change.
It was a similar story in the US, with the J.D. Power’s 2025 US Electric Vehicle Experience Ownership Study finding a whopping 94 percent of EV owners were ‘likely to consider purchasing another as their next car’.
Among those surveyed for the study, only 12 percent were likely to consider replacing their EV with a gas-powered vehicle or hybrid car.
American motorists have been warned to act now if they want an EV
The results of the study come after experts in the US have urged anyone hoping to buy an electric vehicle to do so now before the federal tax credit is cut.

A newly passed bill will see an end to the $7,500 tax credit after September 30.
Experts have suggested those considering buying an electric car to do so as soon as possible to make the most of the savings.
It’s also been predicted we may see a sudden surge in all-electric sales as motorists rush to buy while the tax credit is still on the table.
