Nightmare scenario: imagine being a rancher and driving a pickup truck through a car wash, only to realize you’ve turned into a wrecking ball and ruined a Ford Fusion behind you.
Well, that is exactly what happened to a North Carolina rancher, who had inadvertently left fencing wire in the pickup truck.
Fencing wire and a car wash don’t exactly sound like a good mix, so you can probably imagine the consequences of leaving it in the bed.
Thankfully for us, a TikTok video showed the aftermath of the entire situation, and you can see what happened below.

How the pickup truck turned the car wash into a wrecking ball
The rancher from North Carolina was Kyle Corbett, and he was driving a Ford F-Series pickup truck.
He had forgotten that in the back of the pickup, he had a load of high-tensile wire used for fencing.
So, you probably have some idea as to what happened next.
The first part of the truck went through the wash absolutely fine.
But when it got to the bed, the steel wire became tangled in the spinning brushes.

The brushes then started to unravel the wire, and before Corbett knew it, the wash was a wrecking ball.
Sadly for Corbett, behind him, a Ford Fusion had also started to come through the car wash.
This got hit with the brushes and the wire before the car wash was finally able to stop them.
How bad was the damage to the Ford Fusion?
In the TikTok video, we do get a glimpse of the Ford in the background.
We can’t quite see the damage, but it’s clearly entangled in the mess left behind from the truck.
It is more than likely that the wires smashed into the paintwork and front end of the Fusion.
So it’s possible the paintwork will need fixing, and perhaps it will have needed front-end repairs.

It doesn’t look like it will be as bad as this Range Rover, at least.
According to Corbett, the car wash employees had checked his truck before it went in.
“I went to the car wash, and the guys checked my truck out for safety,” he said.
“I went through, and that’s when all hell broke loose. It wrapped up half of the fence in just a matter of seconds and beat the hell out of that car behind me. It sounded like a war zone,” he added.
@kyle.corbett5 Lesson today is don’t go in the car wash with high tensile wire in the bed of your truck.

Now, either he, the insurance company, or the car wash itself will have to pay up for the damage done.
It is easy to forget that you have something sitting in the back of your truck or car.
But it is quite a surprise that the car wash staff never spotted the wire before it was too late.
