This rare 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO spent more than two decades hidden away inside a barn in North Dakota.
Introduced in 1971, Pontiac’s beefy 455 HO engine offered an impressive 335 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
The 455 HO was quietly retired in 1974, but during the following year, Pontiac announced that it would be offering a new option package for the Firebird: a 445 HO engine paired with a four-speed floor shift transmission.
Pontiac only produced around 900 models, and one of them has just gone up for sale after spending years in a barn.

The 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO is a super-rare find
There’s something satisfying about seeing an old barn find vehicle getting a new shot at life, like the 1966 Mercedes-Benz 250S that was gathering dust for decades before being put back on the road, or the Ferrari 512BBi that was given a full restoration after spending 12 years parked.
Now, this 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO is on the hunt for a new owner and a new life after spending 27 years in a barn.

A listing for the car on Craigslist reveals that its current owner found it in a barn in Bismarck, North Dakota.
The car is all-original and is finished in Cameo White paint with a White Deluxe interior.
The original owner of the car opted for several add-ons, including power windows, air conditioning, and a radio.
Despite its years off the road, its bodywork and interiors don’t appear to be in particularly bad shape, although it could certainly do with a thorough clean.
The car has 64,637 miles on the clock, which the seller says is correct, and, impressively, it still runs.

The car is looking for a new home
The 1975 Pontiac Trans Am 455 HO is already a rare find, but the fact that this one comes with a bunch of original paperwork and has a cool barn find back story makes it extra special.
The seller has listed the Trans Am for $20,000, and it could make an excellent restoration project if it ended up in the right hands.
Here’s hoping it’s snapped up by someone who can restore the rare find to its former glory.
