These North Idaho guys have built a seriously impressive Big Wheel, using a tractor tire.
YouTubers Grind Hard Plumbing took on the task of building a ‘monster truck tricycle’.
To give you an idea of how huge the front tire was, it was big enough for the driver to sit inside.
And yes, it’s exactly as cool as it sounds.

We love nothing more than an ambitious DIY project.
For some DIYers, a solar-powered sailboat is their passion project. Others venture into the world of cars, like this 15-year-old who made a car out of scrap metal.

And some go down a really unorthodox route by fixing up tanks.
For the guys over at Grind Hard Plumbing, a Big Wheel was their venture.
The North Idaho team are no strangers to a big challenge. They’ve previously taken on the ‘worst 4×4’ on Facebook Marketplace.
But a Big Wheel practically made from scratch is a challenge of a different order.

Powered by a BMW engine with a Humvee rear end, it was a formidable creation.
The first challenge that had to be addressed was one of both safety and functionality.
How was the driver meant to stay centered whilst inside a giant moving tire?
If you’ve watched Grown Ups 2, you’ll know that taking a spin inside a huge tire is no picnic.

Making it through the experience intact would be an accomplishment enough; never mind keeping down your lunch.
Ultimately, they were able to fit a chair into the tire.
The more you look at the Big Wheel, the more surreal it appears. Imagine telling somebody you were sitting inside a tractor wheel.
But it really was a kid’s dream made into a reality. There’s still work left to be done, namely on the ‘footboards’.
These would go on the side of the big tire, and give the driver somewhere to put his feet whilst the trike was in motion.

We’re very excited to see how this thing looks when it’s done.
