This US state might just have the coolest number plates in the world, dedicated to one of the most important pop musicians in American history.
Those lucky drivers in Ohio now have the chance to cruise the streets with the face of country music star Dolly Parton on their number plate.
The 79-year-old star, famous for hits like ‘Jolene’ and ‘9 to 5’, originally hails from Tennessee, so why is she on Ohio plates?
Well, her work as a patron of the Ohio charity Imagination Library has gained her immortality in licence plate form.

The coolest number plates in the world
You might think it’s a bit trivial but you’d be amazed how passionate people get about their number plates.
This month, a New Zealander’s photo went viral when it showed his car next to an identical one with only one number difference in the plate.
And then there are people in Dubai who spend millions of dollars to get a number plate with only one digit.
In this case, a charity that delivers a year’s worth of books to families in an effort to boost childhood literacy is getting in on the excitement for plates.
What’s more, if you do want the plate, the $35 annual fee that you have to pay to display it is donated directly to them.
So it looks cool and it’s for a good cause.
Ohio is known for its Honda, Jeep, and Ford factories, so Dolly’s number plate is certainly adding a bit of excitement for the state.
Now, Ohioans get clear bragging rights on any road trip they take across state lines, no doubt leaving passersby feeling a mix of awe and envy.
It’s a strong challenger to similarly cool plates in the Northwest Territories in Canada, where you can get a plate in the shape of a polar bear.
It’s a valuable business as well.
Last year, an Indian man invested $30,000 just to have a a unique license plate number on the back of his Land Cruiser.
So if you are living in Ohio and you have a car in need of a country star’s face on it, it’s your lucky day.
