These Ohio detailers cleaned a woman’s car for the first time in 42 years, and they’ve never seen a reaction like hers before.

The woman bought her super rare Morris Minor 1000 post-divorce and left it in a barn since 1982; it has layers and layers of dust hiding its true color and condition.

The car came with so many sweet original pieces and parts and was truly a hidden gem that had been neglected for many years.

The owner was deeply touched when she saw the Ohio detailers’ work and couldn’t believe the vibrant colors and accents.

Ohio detailers cleaned this woman’s car for the first time in 42 years

After her divorce, a woman named Joanie purchased a rare purple Morris Minor 1000 and promptly hid it away in a barn.

42 years later, the woman decided that it was time for her rare retro car to be restored to its former glory, so she gave it to Ohio-based WD Detailing to bring it back to life.

Despite its years of dormancy, layers of dust and grime, and drained fluids, the car’s wheels spun properly and they even found spare tires and cool overalls in the trunk when they opened it for the first time.

They set about restoring the little car that could back to it’s former glory.

They’ve never seen a reaction like it

The Ohio detailers facilitated the installation of a newer fuel tank and pump, and the rebuilt throttle body, which helps get the car running again.

In the detailing process, the WD team cleaned up the spare tire, degreased the engine bay, and removed the seats, as well as giving it a thorough, much-needed vacuum.

They were ready to show the finished product to Joanie, it had the tiny original 1000 cc Morris Minor engine still intact and the lovely original purple.

Joanie’s reaction was emotional; she was touched by how good the purple paint looked, as well as the white and chrome accents.

She said to the team: “Thank you so much… I’m so glad. You’re the best!”
