This guy couldn’t believe it when he saw an 88-year-old man drive a one-off $20 million Aston Martin Bulldog concept car from 1979.

Writer and journalist Rob McGibbon spotted the one off concept out on the streets of London.

The car has an interesting history, but it recently underwent a major restoration.

The keen-eyed car fan was able to get a video of it too, showing Sir Norman Foster, Baron of Thames Bank, at the wheel of the concept.

Sir Norman Foster gave the Bulldog a drive

The concept car is currently owned by Phillip Sarofim, and Foster was allowed to give it a test drive as a favor.

McGibbon explained in his video caption that Foster had some trouble with the car’s clutch, which was a bit sharp.

Foster also said that it needed a lot of revs to avoid it stalling.

However, it was still a lovely car to drive, according to the architecture icon.

Thanks to the car’s rarity, only eight people in the world have driven the Bulldog.

It is one of the most valuable cars in the world and has had a truly fascinating life.

Aston Martin built the car in 1979, with the styling done by William Towns.

Aston hoped to create a production run of 15-25 cars.

However, the whole project was deemed too costly, and only one car was ever built.

The Aston Martin has had a nomadic existence

First sold to a Middle Eastern collector, the Bulldog was then passed down to a few owners, with a couple of public appearances in 2009 and 2013.

Found in storage in the Far East, American car collector Phillip Sarofim bought it and commissioned a full restoration.

Classic Motor Cars Ltd in Bridgnorth, in the UK, was tasked with the work, and to get the car to reach 200mph.

It completed a shakedown of 162mph in 2021, and then in 2023, with race driver Darren Turner at the wheel, it reached 200mph.

The car has finally fulfilled its promise, and it continues to thrill those who are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it.
