Texans were left delighted when Netherlands fan brought their own Oranje bus over for the World Cup.
The World Cup has been all the rage at the moment, as millions of soccer fans flock to games across the US.
And it seems like the Dutch are feeling particularly passionate, having brought over a bus for the occasion.
But where has this Oranje bus come from – and how come it’s spelt with a ‘j’ rather than a ‘g’?
This Oranje bus quickly made its way onto Reddit
The bus fittingly made its way onto the ‘Weird Wheels’ subreddit.
It was emblazoned with plenty of text, leaving little doubt as to its presence in Texas.

‘Holland’ was slapped across the front grille, while ‘OranjeFans.NL’ and ‘100% Oranje’ made it onto the side alongside the Dutch flag.
Even the destination sign at the front had been adjusted to have Houston as the final stop.
Plenty of Redditors seem stoked by the sight of the bus, as they suggested ways it could be utilized.
“With that open upper deck, it would be ideal for the infield at a NASCAR race!” one user wrote.
“Cheaper to import that bad boy than it would be to pay some of the prices companies are asking just to get to and from matches,” another noted.
The Dutch are letting their colors shine for the World Cup
What is the back story behind this bus exactly?
An article published in The Guardian back in 2024 laid out the bus’ history.
Starting life as an English double-decker bus, it was purchased by some Dutch fans in 2004.
The intention was to drive it to Dutch games in Portugal.

But when the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) suggested that it lead the fan parade, that’s when things really got taken to another level.
Ever since, it has been at the forefront of Dutch soccer culture, appearing in locations as far-flung as São Paulo in Brazil, Sheffield in England, or even Qatar.
And now, it’s wound up in Houston.
That all makes sense, but that leaves us with one question – why ‘Oranje’ over ‘Orange’?

Well, Oranje is the Dutch spelling of the word, and if you know anything about the Netherlands, you’ll know how much the color means to the country.
The color unites the nation through sporting events and national holidays like King’s Day.
We’ve seen a lot of fun bus designs over the years
Buses are generally thought of as a means to an end, getting members of the public from Point A to Point B.
But plenty of people have put their own spin on buses over the years.
For one dad in Utah, that meant essentially turning one bus into a monster truck.
Over in Nashville, the party buses have proven to be a big hit.
And of course, we can’t forget the people who have made adopted a nomad lifestyle of living onboard buses.
This English couple were a notable example of that, shipping their new home in from the US.
