Ford has made some of the most iconic cars in the history of the British auto industry.
Cars such as the Escort, the Focus, and the Capri are staples of the culture.
One division of the firm that is equally a staple of British car culture is its work vehicles.
The Transit, for example, is considered the standard-bearer of work vehicles.
A YouTube channel in the UK, Twin Engine Corsa, happens to own an older Ford van.
And the story of this van is genuinely fascinating.

Teddy, the van’s owner, was originally working on a project centred around the Ford Escort.
Unfortunately, that particular project became too wild to use on the street.
So, he decided to convert the van into a drag strip monster.
It quickly evolved from producing 400HP to over 1,000HP – on methanol.
You might be wondering what powers this Blue Oval behemoth – and it’s pretty cool.
The van build centers around a heavily-modified ST170 Ford engine.
This core piece is accompanied by a monstrous turbo and a mechanical fuel pump.
What makes this project even more hilarious and impressive is the timed results.
A recent drag strip run saw this van produce a time of just 8.72 seconds.
That time managed to beat out Ford’s own official drag project time.
This might well be one of the most impressive drag projects that you will ever see.
And we can’t wait to see what it does next!
