It cost this owner $56k to paint their McLaren 675LT in the color of a cigarette brand.

Only 500 675LTs were made by McLaren, but only one comes with this specific paint job.

This particular car is going up for auction, and it certainly has an interesting story to go along with it.

It’s fast too – a trail of smoke will be left behind it, but it won’t be from a cigarette.

The McLaren 675LT is a beast of a car.

Coming from McLaren, what can you really expect?

Its factory puts out about 22 supercars a day, and these cars truly are gems within the automotive world.

Whether it’s the world’s rarest – the McLaren Solus GT – or one that’s been gifted to a nurse after she passed her test, they’re always special.

And the 675LT that went up for auction over on Bring A Trailer is certainly special.

The supercar was originally ordered by the founder of Griot’s Garage, who makes car care products, the paint scheme mirrors Marlboro packages.

Here’s some additional context.

Back in the day, the cigarette brand was the sponsor of McLaren’s F1 team between 1974 and 1996.

The company also dabbled with other teams, including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and BRM.

So, in tribute to the vintage look, this car retains the two-tone coloring of the brand.

This McLaren features 19 and 20-inch wheels, which cost $2,850 to add.

Throw in a $4,270 Meridian audio system, a $1,920 electric steering column, and $4,790 heated memory seats, and you’ve got yourself one dashing car.

Despite having a camp throwback exterior, the car’s interior plays it safe.

Don’t get us wrong, the black leather and Alcantara looked very nice and all.

But it doesn’t scream ‘This car is one of a kind and harkens back to a bygone era’.

Then again, what would a car have to do for that to come across?

In addition, it’s only been driven for around 2,700 miles, so it’s relatively fresh.

The red and white coloring cost $56k to put on, but it was worth every penny.

Whoever gets to drive home in this will be very lucky indeed.

Check it out over on Bring A Trailer.
