Horacio Pagani, the founder of the esteemed sports supercar brand, has personally ripped his own Zonda F down a strip in a drag race versus a Porsche Carrera GT.

The Pagani Zonda F is filled with influence from some of the best names in racing.

Honouring Juan Manuel Fangio – a former five-time Formula One Drivers’ Championship winner – the Pagani supercar exudes speed.

But to put its capabilities to the ultimate test, who better than the founder and creator of the Zonda F to scorch down a drag strip against a fan-favorite Porsche Carrera GT?

Pagani founder takes the Zonda F on a drag race

Pagani’s range of zesty supercars is quite splendid.

But they’re also incredibly rare to spot in the wild.

Like the Loch Ness monsters of race cars, only a few extra special people have owned one.

They are so limited that only 25 builds of the Zonda F were ever made, and that number shrinks to 10 when you look at the $6.5m Zonda R.

One of those owners of both cars is Mr Horacio Pagani himself, and he’s now put foot to pedal in the Zonda F.

On an extremely scenic strip, Mr Pagani was filmed taking on a Porsche Carrera GT in a drag race, where he appeared to relish letting his beast loose.

Filmed by Ondřej Vávra and posted on YouTube, Pagani’s Zonda glimmers with an ice-white exterior and a swimmingly beautiful ocean-blue interior.

But, despite the notable op speed differential between the Zonda F (214mph) and a Porsche Carrera GT (208mph), could Mr Pagani handle his creation and cross the line quicker than his opponent?

To little surprise, the supercar founder smashed his foot to the floor in the Zonda F as it shot off the line and instantly left the Porsche Carrera GT in his rear-view mirror.

The official timings are unknown, but the Zonda F didn’t look back and clearly crossed the line in first place.

The lesser-spotted supercar range is quite a force in drag races, and the Zonda R has previously set records around the Nürburgring, proving its speed.

While Mr Pagani might not be as quick as the Zonda F’s honorary F1-champion namesake, Juan Manuel Fangio, he certainly knows how to channel the speed of this incredible car.
