RJ, a paralyzed man and US military veteran, is now able to do incredible things thanks to his Neuralink chip.

RJ lost use of his limbs as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Even so, he’s still able to do various things using nothing but his thoughts.

And there’s somebody else who’s making Elon Musk bullish.

What Neuralink can do for RJ

RJ is quadriplegic, which means both his arms and his legs don’t work anymore.

Obviously, Neuralink isn’t capable of fixing that, but it can find a workaround solution that allows RJ to do a few things using his brain.

RJ himself revealed he can play video games, design 3D objects, and control electronics with his thoughts.

According to Elon Musk, patients using Neuralink chips will soon be able to beat pro-gamers.

RJ, the first patient at a Miami hospital to receive the device and the fifth person in the United States to receive a similar implant.

“I think my favorite thing is probably being able to turn on my TV. Like the first time in two and a half years, I was able to do that. So that was pretty sweet,” RJ said in an interview with the Miami Herald.

Elon Musk claims these chips can also solve another problem

Neuralink chips have so far been used to help quadriplegics do some things on their own, but Musk believes they could potentially ‘cure’ blindness.

“The Blindsight device will enable even those who have lost both eyes and their optic nerve to see,” Musk claimed.

“Provided the visual cortex is intact, it will even enable those who have been blind from birth to see for the first time.”

There’s no ETA on that yet, but it would be a huge game-changer.
