Pennsylyvanian guys who were hunting in Texas for bargains managed to find a Cessna plane that they called the ‘Marketplace find of the century’.

The plane in question was a 401, and although it had seen better days, it wasn’t in bad shape.

But there was a fair bit of work that needed carrying out to get it flying once more.

Did the find get snapped up? Let’s find out…

Cessnas are every plane spotter’s dream snap-up

Let’s be honest, what airplane lover wouldn’t want their own jet to explore the world with?

In fact, one YouTuber even went on an adventure across the Atlantic Ocean in a Cessna.

Plus, some pilots managed to set an unbroken record flying a Cessna nonstop for two months before landing in Nevada.

But, just wait until you see the airplane buy this guy managed to get his hands on.

It wasn’t his first Cessna rodeo

Youtuber Rebuild Rescue was previously told that he could be the proud owner of a Cessna 401A – if he could start it up.

So, it comes as no surprise that his and a family member’s eyes were on another plane to take under their wing.

This snap-up, though, was very cheap.

The Cessna was on Facebook Marketplace for $111

Yes, you read that right… the 1967 Cessna 401 was just over $100, and it only had 400 hours on each engine too.

Upon inspection, it’s safe to say that YouTuber and his uncle were impressed by the plane; even though it had been parked for a while, it was still in surprisingly good condition.

The Cessna even had new tires and was described as being ‘pretty nice shape’ by the Youtuber himself.

As you’d expect, the interior of the plane did show some signs of aging and had ‘seen better days’.

“It is roomy,” the YouTuber said, before labeling it overall as a ‘pretty sound airplane’.

After starting the aircraft up, they did find that it worked. There was still work to be done, though, as there were fuel leaks and other issues to address.

The YouTuber admitted that it could cost an estimated $20,000 to get the plane flying and another $20,000 or even more after that.

So, a cheap snap-up today, but an expensive start-up tomorrow.

The quest for the plane was left on a cliff-hanger with the creator’s uncle unsure if he would buy it.

But until we find out if he did, sit back and enjoy their Marketplace adventure below.
