The new Ford Everest Wildtrak has been spotted and now Americans are begging Ford to bring it to the USA.

And honestly, can you blame them?

The SUV is a rugged beauty, capable of seating seven people, so it’s no wonder people are going gaga for it.

But there’s a catch – the Wildtrak is currently only available in the Asia-Pacific market.

Where is the Ford Everest Wildtrak currently available?

A video showing off the stylish SUV went viral on TikTok, gaining more than 600,000 views.

Americans in the comments section were left clamoring over the evasive vehicle.

“Quit showing me this car unless it’s coming to the U.S. I want it!” one said.

“That car is sharp,” another said.

Released back in 2023, the Wildtrak is only available to buy in a select few locations – Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Southeast Asian countries.

And in those countries, it’s been a hit with buyers.

Its success in these markets has left Americans asking why it hasn’t been brought Stateside yet.

But there is a very legitimate reason for that.

The obstacles that the SUV faces coming to the USA

Currently, the Wildtrak is not legal to drive in the States.

Modifications would be needed to make sure it’d be road legal, if any Americans were looking to have it brought over.

Importing itself is a costly endeavor, as bringing it over from Australia would cost between $3,000 and $5,000.

And that’s not forgetting that it would take between one to two months to complete shipment.

So this raises the question – why has Ford not simply released a road compliant version of the Wildtrak in the USA?

There’s speculation that the manufacturer is focusing its attention on the Ford Bronco, which had been reintroduced in 2021 as part of the heritage collection.

The Bronco originally arrived on the scene in 1986, and its revival was part of an effort to reassert Ford’s dominance in the off-roading market.

It faces competition from the Toyota 4Runner and Jeep Wrangler.

With this in mind, bringing the Wildtrak out in the USA may cause some branding conflicts.

For the time being, Americans will have to vicariously live through Aussie owners – or spend a lot of cash to make Wildtraks road-legal.

This isn’t the first time a desired car has run afoul of American regulations – the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 was barred for years.

And even the ‘greatest car ever’ couldn’t help but being banned in all 50 states.
