Eleven years after it was first made, this 2014 Porsche Cayenne has just left people – including the seller – stunned, as it pulled in a top bid of $125,500 in an online auction.

Most Porsche Cayenne cars from 2014 sell for between $20,000 and $30,000.

Given they’ve soon become inundated with the electric version, it’s quite clear to see why they aren’t worth the high-five-figure fees that they would have been worth upon their original release.

But one special 2014 Porsche Cayenne has just sold for more than a 2025 EV, and it’s left people scratching their heads.

This Porsche Cayenne just sold for five times more than others… so what’s so special?

Porsche cars have been one of the hardest hit cars when it comes to depreciation, especially over the last two years.

That’s because the new fleet is full of EVs, and the premium prices have since been undercut by ‘affordable luxury’ competitors from China, among other battery issues.

But this particular Porsche Cayenne has just sold for over five times the usual amount, and with over 60,000 miles on the clock, you may be wondering why.

Well, this has become a collector’s item due to its extremely rare manual transmission.

Sold on Cars and Bids, the 3.6-liter V6 beast comes primed with 300hp, 295lb-ft of torque, and a six-speed manual transmission.

Only a handful of these were made as Porsche quickly changed to an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission in 2014, making it a rarity that piques attention from collectors.

This particular sale of $125,000 is even more than a brand-new Porsche Cayenne EV, which fetches $99,400.

Even the seller couldn’t have imagined his luck

There’s no denying that the seller kept this car in good condition, hoping for a return on his investment down the line. But even they didn’t anticipate this turn of events.

The bodywork – minus a few wear and tear chips on the front – is well kept, and is the only obvious chink in an otherwise perfect armor. But it was the gearbox that made this car rocket in price.

Taking to the auction platform, they simply said:

“Following up from Friday’s auction. The Cayenne has been paid for in full by the winning bidder.”

Other viewers couldn’t believe their eyes.

“I literally thought the website glitched when I saw $125k,” one person wrote

It wouldn’t be the first Cayenne to be an attractive figure online, as this Christmas-themed ray of sparkles is enough to catch anyone’s eye.
