A Ferrari Purosangue named Sammy set out to cross the entire Pan-American Highway, from Uruguay to Alaska.

Behind the wheel was German creator Em Jay, documenting every border, sunrise, and stretch of asphalt along the way.

It was meant to be the ultimate test of grand-touring spirit.

Unfortunately, the Argentina-to-Peru leg delivered a sharp reminder that it doesn’t play favorites, even when it comes to supercars.

The moment this Ferrari Purosangue got more than it asked for

Somewhere between Cusco and Nazca, a simple overtake turned chaotic.

Another driver cut into Em Jay’s lane, forcing a swerve that sent Sammy off the road and into a deep roadside channel.

The Ferrari was stuck, with no way to drive out, and the team suddenly faced a long wait in the middle of the Peruvian highlands.

Luckily there were no injuries, just a shaken crew and a super-SUV that wasn’t going anywhere fast.

Help arrived hours later.

A tow truck pulled Sammy free, and the team made it to Puquio.

The next update showed the Ferrari loaded onto a truck bound for Chile, with repairs to come in Santiago.

Em Jay assured his viewers that once Sammy was well enough, the road trip would roll on.

A new kind of supercar adventure

What Em Jay’s doing isn’t just a solo feat – it reflects a wider shift in car culture.

Supercars are no longer just for the showroom.

They’re going on real journeys, with long roads and rugged terrain

Take the recent story of two friends who proved a Honda S2000 and a Porsche 911 could complete a 1,000-mile California road trip – tents packed, no frills, all heart.

It’s the same spirit driving Sammy up the Pan-American Highway, proving adventure still beats aesthetics.

Because the real fun isn’t just having the car, it’s using it.
