Pierce Brosnan played one of the most beloved versions of James Bond – and off-screen, he owned an Aston Martin that was every bit as worthy of 007.
Brosnan used to own a Vanquish, one of the most iconic Astons ever built.
The actor said it was a ‘beautiful’ one-off made for him after he told his agent how much he liked the car while working on his last Bond movie.
Unfortunately, it no longer exists.
Here’s why Pierce Brosnan no longer owns his Aston
Pierce Brosnan played 007 in four movies: GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day.
At the time, Aston Martin was still making the first-generation Vanquish, which most people agree is one of the best-looking Astons ever made.

Brosnan had a custom Aston Martin Vanquish made for him, but, sadly, it didn’t survive.
“My last Bond movie, there was my Aston Martin. One of the joys of making the film was going down to the Aston Martin workshop, watching my Aston Martin being built.
“Sadly it burned in a house fire,” he explained in an interview.

“All that’s left of the Vanquish are the two name plates that sat on either door, ‘Handbuilt for Pierce Brosnan’,” he said with a hint of sadness.

The next James Bond car?
If you asked 100 people who the best James Bond actor was, you’d get plenty of answers, but Pierce Brosnan would probably make the top three.
Maybe even the top two.
In general, people tend to remember and love Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.

Years after No Time To Die, the last Daniel Craig-era movie, we still don’t know who’s going to play Bond next.
However, clearly, we know what car the actor is going to be driving: as per tradition, it’ll be an Aston Martin.
Almost certainly.
