This pilot told all about flying in outer space and revealed why you can’t just soar above Earth in a standard plane.
We all know that planes fly at high speeds above the ground, but some people have wondered why we can’t just take off into outer space.
So, in order to tackle common questions about flying, one pilot has revealed what aviation fans really want to know.
And, it turns out that the answer is a lot simpler than you initially may think.

There’s a simple reason why a pilot can’t just fly a plane into outer space
When it comes to cruising in the sky, a pilot typically flies at high altitudes, well above the clouds.
However, the high altitudes and sheer speeds of engines within aviation have had some people questioning why planes can’t just take off into outer space.

So, one airline pilot cleared things up once and for all, and it turns out the real reason makes a whole heap of sense.
Captain Steeeve is no stranger to giving plane enthusiasts a helping hand with knowledge, and this time, he imparted lots of wisdom to the world.
“Well, you need air to fly into space because it’s air that actually produces the lift over the wings,” explained the Captain.
He went on to give details about why the plane isn’t equipped to explore the galaxy just yet.
“Those little Bernoullis that go over the wing that create the lift, there just aren’t enough of them, so you’ve got to have a lot of thrust to get yourself into outer space,” he further revealed.

In the video, the pilot also revealed a cheeky secret that pilots actually compete to make the best landing, with Steeeve explaining that if his co-pilot makes the first landing, the pressure is on to get it right.
“I usually start to make my excuses early on in the flight in case my landing is not as good as my co-pilot’s,” he said.
But, if it’s better? Of course, he rubs it in.
Aviation enthusiasts reacted to the reasoning online
After hearing all about the pilot’s advice and tips, plane enthusiasts simply had to react online.
“That’s why they call it an ‘airplane’,” said one social media user.
“Capt. Steeeve, we love ya. Your videos fulfill two requirements in that they are educational and interesting. Thank you,” said one user.
“Love that you compete with each other for best landing!” said a third user.
But, this isn’t Captain Steeeve’s first round of aviation advice.
For example, the airline pilot also revealed a hack to help ear pressure when flying, and it’s all to do with being tired.
Plus, he also gave the inside scoop on why your flight departures are at weird times like 17:11.
