One man is doing something truly heartwarming by using a bright pink Lamborghini Huracán supercar to bring joy to elderly strangers as they fight loneliness.

Mark Cody is the man behind Granborghini, a clever play on words using the supercar manufacturer’s name.

Cody had the idea after promising his grandmother he’d take her out in a Lamborghini, but sadly, she passed away before he had the chance.

So with that in mind, he decided to start something truly special, and Granborghini was born, creating more than just a ride in an Italian supercar.

This is what the pink Lamborghini Huracán at Granborghini is all about

Cody had always said that once he’d ‘made it,’ he would buy a Lamborghini supercar and take his grandmother out in it.

However, she passed away before he had the chance to do so.

Now 36 years old, he founded Granborghini partially in her honor.

With his pink Lamborghini Huracán, Cody formed a very simple business.

He reaches out to care homes and families to offer rides in the car to seniors fighting loneliness.

Best of all, Cody offers the rides in his pink Lamborghini Huracán for free.

The ultimate aim is to help those of an older generation who are suffering from mental health problems.

Cody has also been able to use other cars borrowed from drivers who volunteered their time for Granborghini.

So cars like a McLaren and a Ferrari have also been used as part of the initiative.

Why Cody feels the free supercar rides are so important

“We’ve had people step out of the car and say ‘I feel like a rock star’ or ‘I feel 20 years younger,'” he told the BBC.

“It’s so heart-warming and overwhelming emotionally to see people’s reactions,” he added.

For example, one passenger, Toni, was an 80-year-old grandmother.

From videos posted on the Granborghini Instagram account, it’s clear Toni had the time of her life.

Estimates say there are nearly a million elderly people in the UK who are battling loneliness.

This is the perfect way to help combat that.

Plus, even better for Cody and his drivers is that their passengers love to go fast.

“We’ve obviously got to balance it with the safety and speed limits, but where we can, we do go up to the speed limit,” he said.

So far, then, Granborghini has been a major hit.
