The head-turning Polestar 5 has an asking price upwards of $100,000, and for that sort of money, you don’t get a back window.
Yep, you did read that correctly.
The all-electric sedan sports an eye-catching and slick minimalist design that doesn’t feature a back window.
But what it lacks in rear windows, it more than makes up for in performance.

The Polestar 5 boldly asks, ‘Who needs back windows anyway?’
The Swedish EV carmaker launched in 2017 and has previously launched the world-record-setting Polestar 3.
It’s also handed out some pretty tasty incentives to get EV drivers to switch from their current models to a Polestar.
This week, the automaker unveiled its latest offering, the Polestar 5 grand tourer.

“Polestar 5. The pure performance GT,” the marque has hailed it.
“Where the future of the sports car and the Grand Tourer merge in a pure, performance GT.”
The car is available in two variants: the Dual Motor and the Performance model, both of which are all-wheel-drive.
The EV will be pitted against the likes of the Porsche Taycan, the Tesla Model S Plaid, and the Lucid Air, and it has the price tag to prove it.
In Europe, the entry-level car will cost €119,900, around $140,000, while the Performance version will go on sale for €142,900, about $167,000.
The luxury EV sports an attention-grabbing design with sleek, clean lines.
At the rear, there’s no back window; instead, you’ll find a continuation of the sweeping panoramic glass roof, which measures two meters long and 1.25 meters wide, and a solid panel of bonded aluminum.

An unusual choice, but one which makes the car look absolutely superb – and that’s before we even get to its performance.
The upcoming EV packs a punch when it comes to performance
As well as looking the part, the EV packs a serious punch when it comes to performance.
The aptly named Polestar 5 Performance offers 884hp and can hit 0-62mph (0-100km) in just 3.2 seconds.
It also has a range of up to 350 miles (565km).

The entry-level Polestar 5 Dual Motor offers a slightly less powerful, but still impressive, 748hp, and can manage 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.
It has a little more range than its more powerful sibling at around 416 miles (670km) per charge.
Speaking of charging, the EV can go from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 22 minutes with a 350kW charger.
Who needs rear windows anyway, right?
