A UK tuner has built a faster, wider, longer Porsche 911

This is the new P39, a more powerful version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S, inspired by the Le Mans-winning Porsche GT1.

It’s made by RML, a UK-based tuner, and they say it is even faster around the Nürburgring than the 911 GT3 RS.

That hasn’t been verified yet, but the car certainly looks the part.

And it has a massive wing at the back, which never hurts.

P39 is a speed machine inspired by Le Mans

The inspiration for the P39 came from GT1 race cars that competed at Le Mans in the 1990s.

The wheelbase has been extended by 25mm, which means the Porsche is now longer by 170mm, which makes it more stable at high speeds.

According to RML, the car is now able to produce 35 percent more downforce than before.

A Porsche 911 with more power and torque

The twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six under the hood has also been overhauled.

They fitted a new pair of turbochargers, improved intercoolers, and an upgraded engine management system.

As a result, it now produces 900bhp and 738lb-ft of torque, so that’s 259bhp and 148lb-ft more than the ‘standard’ Porsche 911 Turbo S.

RML ran simulations and the P39 could lap the ‘Ring in 6 minutes and 45 seconds, which would make it 4.3 seconds quicker than the 911 GT3 RS.

Presumably, they will also attempt to verify that claim at some point.

The latest addition to the list of Porsche GT1-inspired cars

The P39 is the latest addition to a long list of GT1-inspired cars.
