New details have emerged about the upcoming Porsche Macan EV.
The German automaker has revealed the next-gen Macan will be the first model to utilize the 800-volt PPE architecture.
It’ll have a state-of-the-art battery and charge management system, too.

Porsche claims the Macan EV will be the sportiest SUV in its segment.
That’s a bold claim considering how good the current Macan is.
CHECK THIS OUT!
How could the Porsche Macan EV possibly be better?
Well, top trim levels will have a fully variable electronically controlled rear differential and a “performance rear axle” with an electric motor behind it.
It will be underpinned by the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform.
According to Porsche, it allows for a rear-dominant all-wheel-drive application.
Combined with torque distribution in the AWD system, the Porsche Macan EV will maintain high agility when it accelerates out of corners.
Speaking of power, the Turbo version (even though it won’t have a turbocharger) will have as much as 603 hp and more than 738 lb-ft of torque.
Not going to lie, that’s a heck of a lot of power for a small SUV.
Rest assured, Porsche’s engineers have completely revised the double-wishbone front suspension.
It’ll now have a detached strut level at the front and a multi-link at the rear.
What’s more the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system will be standard on top trims.
The Porsche Active Suspension Management System on the Macan EV will come with two-valve shock absorbers that are independently adjustable.
When it comes to charging the Porsche Macan EV, its 800-volt technology enables a fast-charging time from five to 80% in just 25 minutes.
We don’t know range estimates, as Porsche hasn’t yet provided them, but no doubt they’ll be highly competitive.
We’d expect at least 300 miles on a single charge.
Porsche Macan EV reveal date
Unfortunately, an official reveal date hasn’t been announced yet.
It’ll definitely be this year, though, as the Porsche Macan EV is due to hit showrooms before the end of 2024.
