An in-car gaming platform will be included in the Porsche Macan when it’s released later this year.
AirConsole is collaborating with Porsche on the exciting development, which is being touted to transform car rides into ‘shared entertainment experiences’.
The experience will remain safe as not to distract the driver, but allow passengers to share in the fun.
This feature will roll out to most markets in which Porsche Connect is available.

This new in-car gaming experience is coming with the Porsche Macan
The collaboration between Porsche and AirConsole will bring a series of multiplayer games into the Macan’s entertainment system.
Headquartered in Zurich, AirConsole is a Swiss startup leading the evolution of in-car gaming.
The company manages the full experience end-to-end, handling integrations, curating content, and collaborating with third-party studios on game development.
What’s on offer for Porsche Macan passengers is a fun way to keep passengers entertained, whether the car is in motion or parked, while also not distracting the driver.

And best of all, it’s really simple to use, and players can access it through their smartphones.
When the car is in motion, the gaming will be seen on the front passenger display screen for non-driving occupants.
Among the games included in the curated library are Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Overcooked, and UNO Car Party!
Up to five players can enjoy multiplayer gameplay, whether it be through collaborative or competitive sessions.
Hopefully, nobody in the car is a sore loser, as that could make things very awkward if things go south during a game of UNO.
Anthony Cliquot, the CEO of AirConsole, praised the collaboration as a ‘powerful sign of how quickly AirConsole is scaling in the automotive industry’.

Since the in-car platform was launched in 2023, it has been integrated into vehicles from Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen.
But this platform was also designed with the car of the future in mind, particularly those that would be self-driving.
“With all the brands we’ve worked with, bringing more screens to the vehicle has been a priority,” Cliquot told Supercar Blondie.
“In the future, the car will become a living space, not just a vehicle taking you from A to B.
“But it’ll be a space where people need entertainment, especially as [we] head towards autonomous driving.
“The ultimate goal is to provide great entertainment for people when it comes to a point that they won’t have to worry about what’s on the street.”
The AirConsole system makes use of ambient lighting in cars during games, making for a truly immersive experience.
For example, the lights change color in UNO depending on which card has been dealt.
And in Pac-Man, the colors change once Pac-Man eats a power pellet and begins chasing the ghosts.
Although Cliquot kept tight-lipped about which new games would be joining the library for the Macan, he did say that more details would be announced later this year.

A closer look at the Porsche-AirConsole collaboration will be revealed at the IAA Motor Show, which takes place between September 9 and 14 in Munich, Germany.
The in-car gaming feature will be included in all markets in which Porsche Connect is available, except for China.
Gaming and cars – not so separate after all
When we usually think of video games and cars, we think of them existing in very different spheres.
But more and more, we’re seeing the two worlds blend into one.
For a start, a bunch of real-life cars have appeared in the Grand Theft Auto games.
Then there are some gamers who have turned their Gran Turismo skills into real-life racing success.
And then there are those who incorporate their love of gaming into their daily drivers, as one guy did with his Xbox.
