This Porsche owner bought a new Porsche Taycan, just months after selling the old one.
He talked about his EV experience in detail on his YouTube channel, which is why some people might be surprised to hear he’s got a new Taycan again after spending months criticizing the old one.
There are a couple of reasons behind this decision.
And only one of these reasons is purely technical.

Probably the most famous Porsche Taycan on YouTube
A Porsche owner and YouTuber who goes by The MacMaster on social media has just decided to buy a brand-new Porsche Taycan, just a few months after getting rid of the old one.
His entire channel focuses on his Taycan experience, and it’s clearly working out for him.
As one of his subscribers pointed out, this might be ‘the most famous Taycan on YouTube’.

But levity aside, there were several things about his Taycan that this owner didn’t like, starting with the apparently higher-than-expected running costs.
In theory, he argued, running an EV should be cheaper, especially when it comes to maintenance, because there are fewer running parts, and therefore fewer things to worry about, which is a fair point.
After months of frustration, mostly due to the depreciation, he got rid of his Porsche Taycan and got a new Tesla.
Now, however, he’s decided to do a 180 and get a new Taycan.
The reasons why he bought this EV again
From a technical standpoint, the new Porsche Taycan he bought is an upgraded version of the one he had.
So, theoretically, it should be a better car.
But there’s another reason as well.

When the German marque first unveiled the new Taycan, about half a decade ago, the company made a point of reminding everyone this was first and foremost a Porsche.
That was the whole point.
The company didn’t want people to think this was an electric Porsche; they wanted customers to think this was another excellent Porsche vehicle that just happened to be electric.
So that’s why replacing his Porsche Taycan with a Tesla Model Y left MacMaster wanting more.
But we’ll no doubt find out more in new videos in the coming weeks.
