Porsche is being praised for its new ‘tunnel mode’ feature, which makes driving feel even more special.
The brand has filed a patent for technology that turns a simple tunnel run into a cinematic driving moment, like something straight out of a car advert or a movie.
It automatically adjusts the car’s settings to heighten the sound and feeling of each tunnel blast.

‘Tunnel mode’ turns driving your Porsche into an experience
Porsche’s new ‘tunnel mode’ is very exciting for fans of the supercar brand.
The system uses cameras and onboard sensors to detect when a tunnel is coming up.
Once it does, it alerts the driver and offers two options: an ‘exciting’ mode or a ‘quiet’ mode.
In exciting mode, the car opens its exhaust valves, switches into Sport mode, lowers the windows, and even prompts convertible drivers to drop the roof for the maximum amount of drama.
Quiet mode does the opposite, sealing the cabin and reducing sound for a calm, relaxed drive, making you feel like you’re in your own little world.
