This Porsche propelled EV boat just set a new speed record, and it certainly is a king of the seas.

The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom managed to sail to new heights in Monaco and break records.

The boat boasts the drive system from the Porsche Macan all all-electric powertrain.

Finished in a shade of stunning green, it’s not bad to look at, too.

This Porsche propelled EV boat is game-changing and set a new speed record

The German luxury automaker is a company that is world-renowned for having a serious need for speed, and thanks to taking their engineering into the water, the manufacturer has achieved a new milestone within the EV world.

After swapping highways for bays, a Porsche propelled EV boat was released, and the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom has taken the boating world by storm.

The ‘elegant day cruiser’ harbors a fully electric drive train system from the Maca Turbo and set a brand new, impressive speed record.

It all happened at the 12th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, and it seems that the sheer speed of the vessel simply couldn’t be beaten.

“With an average speed of 49.84 knots (92.3 km/h), it not only left its rivals behind in the speed competition but also set a new all-time record in the history of the event,” the company explained.

The 8.67m long and 2.49m wide Porsche propelled EV boat has the drive system from the Macan that has been adapted especially for the water.

And, thanks to boat maker Frauscher, whose design helped to shape the Porsche propelled EV boat, it is a dominating force on the water thanks to the hull shape of the Frauscher 858 Fantom.

Then, when it comes to manufacturing, the German battery and the drive system, which includes the control unit, are supplied pre-assembled, and boat maker Frauscher is then in charge of the final assembling and sales.

The specific EV boat in Monaco was painted in an ‘Oakgreen Metallic Neo ‘ color and was a fully standard production model.

“This success not only underlines the boat’s technical innovation, but also marks an important milestone in the development of electric propulsion solutions in the maritime sector,” detailed the managing director of Frauscher Bootswerft, Stefan Frauscher.

What can’t Porsche do?

Aside from creating record-breaking EV boats, the manufacturer obviously has an impressive fleet of on-road vehicles, too.

From the Taycan to the famous 911, the company’s cars are favored by gearheads all over the world.

In fact, Dua Lipa even recently showed off her custom 911 GT3 RS at Goodwood Festival of Speed, proving that celebrities love getting on the action too.

Plus, we can’t forget that there was even a limited edition Porsche surfboard inspired by the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 i that is now riding Californian waves.
