A man with a ‘worthless’ Porsche Taycan EV says he is close to solving his problems by buying another Taycan electric car.
British YouTuber The MacMaster has been toying with what to do with his first-generation Porsche Taycan, be it refinance the car or send it back to Porsche.
The first-gen Taycan has a fair number of issues. But the YouTuber is hoping a switch to the next generation of the EV will sort those out.
His video sees him take a spin in a newer model Taycan, to see if he should make the switch, or perhaps stick with the current car.

What issues does the first-gen Porsche Taycan have?
Some drivers reported that their first-gen Taycan had a slow and glitchy computer system, which caused all sorts of problems for them.
But it was the battery and computer software that The MacMaster was most concerned about.

The YouTuber said that a few things have changed in the new version, such as headlights and the rear-end.
The batteries in the new EV also reportedly last longer, and charge faster.
These are the improvements making the YouTuber think about swapping his car out for the newer model of Taycan.
A fellow Taycan driver then met up with the YouTuber to discuss this, and he had big opinions.
How does the new version compare to the older model?
His friend was full of praise for the newer model, saying he had no issues with it so far and was getting 325 miles out of it in the summer.
This is exactly what The MacMaster wanted to hear.
The computer system in the gen-two car was also reportedly snappier and had none of the glitches of the old one.
That was another big win for the YouTuber who was looking to trade his older Porsche in.
Come the end of the test drive, the YouTuber was in no doubt that the new model was the one to go with.
The problems that worried him were long gone, and it sounded like it was a much better car all ’round.
