A Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has just taken on the Tesla Model S Plaid.
While both of these electric supercars were incredibly fast, there was one clear winner.
The race was held on the Edmunds U-Drag track.
With both the electric cars built for outstanding performance, it was unclear who would take the win at first.

Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Vs Tesla Model S Plaid
The intense race between the two beasts was documented on YouTube by Edmunds Cars.
The Tesla Model S Plaid is incredibly powerful with 1,020 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.
Its Drag Strip Mode helps it launch super fast, making it tough to beat at the start.
On the other hand, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT delivers 777 horsepower, but it can peak at 1,092 horsepower in Attack Mode.
Initially, when the race started, both cars were neck and neck, with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT very slightly ahead of the Tesla Model S Plaid.
But after the first braking segment, the Porsche Taycan took the lead, leaving the Tesla behind.
The Taycan had an advantage with its adaptive suspension and traction settings.
Meanwhile, the Tesla’s performance was massively affected by the need to turn off its stability control for the best acceleration.
Porsche won the race
The result was unlike the drag race between the Cybertruck and the Porsche 911, where the former took the lead instantly and won.
The credit for the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s win goes to its sharp handling and sporty feel.
Plus, the Tesla’s rigid handling likely held it back.
If it wasn’t for the braking segment that held back the Tesla Model S Plaid, perhaps the result could have been different.
After all, a similar model raced against a Lamborghini Revuelto and won.
