One of the quickest new supercars around is smashing track records for fun, and it's street legal

The Praga Bohema, one of the quickest new supercars in the world, keeps smashing track records in Europe.

We’re talking about an extreme vehicle with a wild power-to-weight ratio.

And yet, amazingly, it is actually street-legal.

Hard to believe considering the new records it just broke.

A record-breaking machine

Earlier this year, the Bohema became the fastest pure internal combustion vehicle around Dunsfold Park – the track used by Top Gear – with Ben Collins at the wheel.

A few weeks later, the Bohema set three separate track records in Europe.

The Praga team took one of the quickest supercars in the world back home to set a record in Czechia, at Autodrom Most, and then again in Brno – also in Czechia – at Automotodrom Brno.

The Bohema became the fastest car around both those tracks, beating the previous times by 4.8 seconds and 7.1 seconds respectively.

Next, Praga took the Bohema to Slovakia, and set a new record over there as well.

Most new supercars are built using electrified powertrains, but the Praga Bohema was built with a slightly different approach.

Praga said the car’s weight was a priority, more specifically keeping it under 1,000KG.

After that, they added a bespoke 700HP Praga Litchfield 3.8-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo engine, loosely based on a type of engine that Nissan used to use for the GT-R before its EV transition.

It does 0-62MPH (0-100KMH) in 2.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 197MPH (317KMH).

More to the point, it can generate up to 900KG of downforce and 2G in the corners.

The first customer car was delivered in late 2024, which is not bad considering it only took two years to go from prototype to production.

We can’t wait to see one on the roads…
