Check out this 1974 Chevy Camaro Z28 that has just 1,800 miles on the clock and is in absolutely pristine condition.

The Z28 Special Performance Package offered a bit more horsepower than the standard option.

In 1974, a little under 14,000 customers opted for the Z28 package.

And one of them recently turned up at the Camaro Nationals in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, looking brand new.

The 1974 Chevy Camaro Z28 looks like it just rolled off the production line

With a nameplate dating back to the mid-1960s, there are plenty of stunning examples of Chevrolet Camaros out there today, like this beautiful 1972 model that made its show debut decades after it was built, or this 1969 Yenko Camaro that was missing for more than 50 years.

However, even both of those beauties face some serious competition from this near-perfect 1974 Chevy Camaro Type LT Z28 that looks like it just rolled off the production line.

It recently popped up at the Camaro Nationals in Morgantown, Pennsylvania, where YouTuber Car Show Reporter got a closer look.

The 1974 Chevy Camaro Z28 has had just two owners across its lifetime, but even more interestingly, it’s got just 1,872 miles on the clock.

The owner, Bob, who is the son of the former owner, didn’t explain why the car didn’t get a chance to hit the road very often, but it’s great to see that even if it isn’t used very often, it has very clearly been exceptionally well cared for.

The paintwork looks factory-fresh, you can practically smell the ‘new car’ scent of the interiors through the screen, and even the underside of the car is spotless.

The only small sign of the Camaro’s age is some damage to the driver’s door window seal.

As well as being pristine, the car is a fairly rare option.

The M21 four-speed transmission was only fitted on 3,336 1974 Camaros, including this one, and the fact that it’s a Z28 and a Type LT makes it rarer again.

Is there a new Camaro on the way?

The Chevy Camaro had an original run between 1966 and 2022.

The nameplate was revived in 2009 with the fifth-generation Camaro, which was in production until 2023.

However, the car could be tipped for a comeback in the future

President of General Motors Mark Reuss was recently asked if he saw a future for the car and gave a pretty cryptic reply.

“I think that formula of beauty — and a little bit of functionality and fun — all of that is important,” he said.

“If we were getting back into Camaro, that piece of it is really important. That segment is declining — I think they sold more Mach-Es than they did Mustangs.

“I think that would be a great formula, and we have the ability to do that.”

So watch this space.
