The last thing anyone probably expects to see is a video of former F1 driver David Coulthard driving a Mercedes SLS sports car, and catching a 178mph shot from pro golfer Jake Shepherd.
But that is exactly what we have here, in promotional footage filmed by Mercedes-Benz that almost looks too good to be true.
Shot at Dunsfold, where Top Gear used to be filmed, the footage doesn’t get any more believable the more it’s seen, but it really did happen.
It is probably one of the most ridiculous things you will ever see, but it is worth watching over and over again.

This is how Mercedes filmed the stunt with David Coulthard.
To film this incredible stunt, Mercedes took Coulthard and an SLS and brought in pro golfer Jake Shepherd.
The idea was simple.
Shepherd would launch the golf ball while Coulthard drove past him.
The 13-time Grand Prix winner would then attempt to catch it in the cabin of the convertible Mercedes.
But ‘DC’ as he is known would have to keep one eye on the road ahead, and one on the incoming ball.

It is probably one of the most ridiculous things the F1 driver and the pro golfer have ever done.
And remember, F1 teams can have their drivers do some pretty ridiculous PR stunts.
Coulthard’s reaction was priceless as the ball flew right into the passenger seat of the Mercedes SLS.
How the stunt set a Guinness World Record
Not only was this great PR for Mercedes-Benz, but the German manufacturer even set a world record.
The video, titled The Catch was uploaded by Mercedes 13 years ago.
Mercedes wanted to set a record for the farthest golf shot caught in a moving car.
In the video, a few practice attempts are shown with Shepherd and Coulthard as they try to set the record.
On the successful shot, the ball hit 178mph with Coulthard trying to be just in the right spot as it fell.
It is surreal watching the ball fly through the air and land in the Mercedes.
Both Jake Shepherd and Coulthard were utterly delighted that they had pulled it off.
With that, the world record was set from 902 feet away.
This was probably one of the craziest record attempts that Guinness World Records ever took part in.
