Rebuild expert Randy, while on his regular hunt in a scrap yard, stumbled upon a Dodge Durango.
While exploring the car, he met with a surprising twist – the hood was kept open with a simple tool – a plain old screwdriver, of all things.
One thing was clear – the Dodge Durango had seen better days.

Dodge Durango with a surprise under the hood
The vehicle, featured in a YouTube video by Auto Auction Rebuilds, had more than a few quirks.
Despite its striking white, red, and black color combination, the SUV was in rough shape.
The car’s hood was an aftermarket fiberglass piece with missing air vents.
There were noticeable dents on the roof and the hood; besides that, there was no noticeable damage to the car from the outside.
Inside, however, it was a different story.
The center console had been used as an ashtray, and the humidity spots on the headliner suggested a leaky sunroof.
Although not racking up as many miles as this Porsche, with 142,316 miles on the meter, you could easily tell that the car had been the favorite ride of the owner.
The car’s condition was rough
The engine had the well-known HEMI tick – like a lot of Dodge trucks – causing strange noises and vibrations.
Missing parts from the exhaust made things even worse.
Moreover, the battery was so weak that it couldn’t keep the engine running.
Overall, the car was a clear mess and anyone buying it would need to invest in extensive restoration work.
First introduced in 1997, the Dodge Durango was a popular choice for buyers.
While not the best, the car didn’t disappoint with its 360 horsepower and a top speed of around 237 km/h (147 mph).
New models of the Dodge Durando are still in production, with improved features and performance, and the Alaska police recently added 48 of them in their impressive fleet.
