It looks like a futuristic Batmobile, but, believe it or not, this Renault Filante concept was designed to beat EV range records.
Named the Renault Filante Record 2025, the brand is calling it a ‘laboratory on wheels’ and we can understand why, because it’s packed with epic tech.
Measuring over five meters long and weighing just 1000kg, Renault wants to set a new record for distance traveled on a single charge.
The brand says new technology and materials tested in the concept will then trickle down to future production cars. Exciting stuff.

Renault Filante Record 2025 design
The single-seater was designed with a super streamlined body for ultimate aerodynamic efficiency.
It was fitted with a special 87kWh battery along with unique friction-reducing tires, steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technologies.
The futuristic design continues inside, with a cockpit inspired by aviation and space travel.
It was also designed with ergonomics and weight reduction front of mind.
Renault used ultra-light materials, including carbon fiber and aluminum alloy made with 3D printing.
The driver’s seat, for example, is made from stretched canvas, like a hammock, adapting to the body shape of the driver.
Inspiration for the concept car
Renault said the concept was inspired by the 40CV des Records and the Étoile Filante, built in 1925 and 1956 respectively, both of which set new historical records for the brand.
Looks-wise, the brand says it was inspired by aeronautical design cues.
“We designed this vehicle as a sculpture in motion. Inspired by fighter planes and the speed records of the nineteenth century,” Renault said.
“Every inch of the surface was crafted to capture the light and showcase the body lines which appear to melt into the air.
“The blue windows and color palette further underline this light and airy impression.”
The Renault Filante Record 2025 demo car will be on show at the Rétromobile motor show in Paris from 5-9 February 2025.
Following this, Renault will start testing the concept, with a goal of setting a new record for range.
