This custom Ringbrothers Tuka SUV is a great example of just how wild Restomod can get.
Although it looks like a normal K5 at first glance, there’s a lot more going on here.
It uses the chassis from a third-generation Toyota Tacoma, has a V8, and completely bespoke interior.
In fact, the Wisconsin-based parts builder totally overhauled the car to create their ‘TUKA’ 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.

For the uninitiated, a Restomod is a classic car that has been restored and modified to blend modern technology and performance with the car’s original style.
This modern Chevrolet K5 blends the capabilities of a Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Tacoma, and modern GM V8 engine into a single-build.
It took the Ringbrothers more than 3,700 hours to finish the TUKA project, enhancing the K5 Blazer into a modern powerhouse.
“This project is all about crafting something new and highly functional from a tried, true, and familiar K5 that can be used daily while no stranger to playing in the dirt,” Ringbrothers co-owner Jim Ring said.

Toyota Tacoma chassis and V8 engine
The biggest change so far is that the original chassis on this vehicle was chopped up and re-engineered.
Instead, they used a reliable third-generation Toyota Tacoma chassis for improved ride and handling.
Beneath the carbon fiber hood resides a GM Performance 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine.
It produces 525 horsepower and 487 ft-lbs of torque.
Restomodding has become massively popular across North America in recent years.
And powerhouse builds like this are taking it to the next level.
