Supercar Blondie checks out the top secret Lexus LFA concept car

An American woman who purchased a Lexus RX 350 SUV has revealed her shock after finding out just how much it costs to run a luxury car.

Jude, a dental hygienist, admitted in a TikTok video that she is paying nearly $800 a month to run her new luxury vehicle.

Jude went on to explain that, while seeking a car with all the high-tech gizmos, she had no idea that a luxury car meant luxury running costs.

However, she was able to justify the cost thanks to all the tech the RX 350 came with, such as a 360-degree camera and moonroof.

The Lexus RX 350 costs Jude over $700 to run each month

In her TikTok video, which has over 440,000 views, Jude stated she is paying just over $770 a month to run the RX 350.

The Lexus SUV’s starting price is $50,325, so it’s little wonder the car’s running costs are so high.

Across the board, these running costs would appear to be within the average.

Bankrate collated a list of the average car payments for 2025, and they stated that, on average, owners pay around $520-$730 per month to run a new or used vehicle.

Jude admits to some shock at her monthly car payments.

The American SUV has all manner of tech, including a large infotainment screen, auto start, ambient lighting, and Apple CarPlay.

Car payments appear to be becoming more and more expensive.

While clearly shocked, other TikTok users responded to Jude’s video with Many of them saying higher monthly payments for vehicles seem to be more commonplace.

One user admitted to paying even more than Jude.

This owner said she pays $1,358 a month, leading to another claiming Jude’s $770+ payment isn’t too bad.

Despite the high costs involved, many owners didn’t seem to mind.

One woman said she has a 2025 Premium Lexus NX 350h and says ‘I’m okay’ with her payments while also saying: “I deserve my car.”

Despite the high costs, a positive aspect of Jude’s choosing a Lexus is its reliability.

Lexus is Toyota’s luxury division, so it should last well over 150,000 miles and possibly close to 250,000 in mileage before Jude has to consider replacing it.

Toyota is a company famed for its reliability, and that carries directly over to its luxury division.
