This Seattle car saleswoman was left stunned when a man explained why he was trading in a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek after only 177 miles.

Carmen took to TikTok to pose a question to her followers regarding the returned vehicle.

She wanted to know under what circumstances people would return a car when it had so little mileage.

The reason given to her was shocking – but it’s not the most outlandish she’d heard.

Saleswoman baffled by return of 2025 Subaru Crosstrek

Filming herself beside a white 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Premium, Carmen posed a question to her viewers.

“What would you guys think if you saw this vehicle on our lot with only 177 miles on it?” she asked.

“Would you think, wow, that’s a great buy, or would you think that there is something wrong with it?”

You might be left scratching your head because this car looked showroom new.

It turns out that this Subaru Crosstrek was returned after 177 miles for a reason some would scoff at.

The owner had given it back because they wanted the exact same model in a different color.

She said she was pretty shocked by the decision, but also explained that it wasn’t the first time someone had returned a car for a seemingly innocuous reason.

Carmen said she had seen plenty of people trade in low-mileage cars for various reasons.

One man returned his car every 10,000 miles because he didn’t want anything with ‘too many miles’.

Then there was a woman who bought a three-throw 4Runner to drive her grandkids around and then brought it back after her son moved out of the state.

“Moral of the story is there are so many reasons why people choose to trade in vehicles that are only a year or two old and have super low miles on them,” Carmen explained.

Car salesmen are revealing tricks of the trade

In recent years, we’ve seen more cars salespeople giving honest insights into their industry.

One Ford salesman went as far to tell the internet about all the hidden fees inside a dealership’s paperwork.

That’s to say nothing of the retired salesman who revealed the perfect answers to common dealership questions.
