This superyacht used to be a semi-submersible heavy-lift vessel.

The OK Yacht has quite the transformation since it first took to the waters in 1982.

Built by the Japanese company Oshima Shipbuilding Co Ltd, it has a beam (width)of 32.01 meters, a draught (the depth of a boat below the water line) of 6.26m and a volume of 11,296 GT (gigatons).

It’s hard to believe that something so humongous has now been purposed for luxury purposes.

From a heavy-lift vessel to a superyacht

Believe it or not, the OK is only 12th in the world rankings of mega big yachts, as reported by the Super Yacht Times.

The number one spot goes to the Dilbar, which is 157m long, and was once seized whilst docking in Germany.

Still, the OK is an imposing figure with its steel hull.

Powered by two engines, it carries 201,000 litres of fuel onboard.

As if the boat itself wasn’t impressive enough, there are plenty of fun add-ons on the ship itself.

These include up to 70 ‘toys’, including a 46-meter sailing yacht, amphibious vehicles and a seaplane.

Yep, this yacht is so big that it has another yacht onboard.

That’s what you call a flex.

That’s not all, either.

The OK is also home to a tennis court, an outdoor cinema, a glass wrapped jacuzzi and a botanic garden.

From the sounds of it, you’d have virtually everything you’d ever need if you set to sea on this thing.

Designing the OK

The OK is the brain child of designer Timur Bozca, who was once named the Young Designer of the Year in 2015, as reported by autoevolution.

He’d also designed the Black Swan yacht, which is very different from the OK.

For a start, the OK is a real vessel and has already taken to the water.

But stylistically, the Black Swan is as elegant as its name suggests.

The OK is industrial, hard edged and – let’s face it – kind of intimidating.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Bozca said: “I can confirm that it is real and it has already started to travel the world.

“We aimed to create the unique feelings of being on an undiscovered island at OK.”

Yet another flex – people thinking your yacht can’t possibly be real because it’s so big.

Flex and superyacht seem to go hand-in-hand these days.

Earlier this month, the co-founder of Google snagged himself the largest superyacht in America for a cool $450 million.
