Singer Shakira reportedly faced a staggering $15.2 million bill to ship her luxury car collection to Florida.
The star has an impressive collection of luxury cars and supercars, and she wanted access to the fleet while she was based in the US.
She was fond of her original vehicles, so instead of using some of her wealth to buy replacements in the United States, she came up with a different solution.
This decision came in the wake of her separation from former partner Gerard Piqué and her move away from their Spanish home.

Shakira and her luxury car collection were on the move
International singing sensation and celebrity Shakira’s amazing luxury supercar collection features an eclectic mix of vehicles, including three Mercedes: a Mercedes SL550, Mercedes SLK250, and a Mercedes S-Class.
She also owns a Tesla Model S, a Jeep Wrangler, a BMW X6, an Audi Q7, an A7 Sportback, and a Mini Cooper, plus a modestly priced SEAT Leon.
The singer also used to have a fabulous purple Lamborghini Urus, but she gifted it to a fan.
Rather than selling them and buying new ones in the US, she chose to foot an eye-watering bill to transport the originals when she and her now ex-husband, Gerard Piqué, announced their divorce.

Why was the cost so high?
The reported $15.2 million figure reflected the logistics of moving multiple vehicles internationally.
The price included shipping, customs, import duties, storage, and transport within the US, as well as arranging everything so she retained ownership and the cars remained ready to drive.

Given the complexity of transatlantic shipping and the legal and financial implications, it was perhaps less surprising, though the number still stood out.
Shakira’s move showed that for celebrities with truly global mobility, the cost of bringing their beloved supercars with them could be enormous.
