Shaquille O’Neal has a famous taste for fancy cars, but when his son wanted to follow in his rather large footsteps by putting a brand new Mercedes-Benz S-Class on the basketballer’s tab, Shaq senior had a brutal response.

Estimated to be worth more than $500M, the behemoth basketball Hall of Famer often showcases his wealth with sets of wheels.

However, the same can’t be said for little Shaq.

On the hunt for a new car, the 22-year-old Basketball forward was given the cold shoulder after trying to use his dad’s tab.

Shaq’s delivers his son a brutal blow

Collaborating with luxury car outlet Effortless Motors, Shaqir O’Neal was on the hunt for a new ride.

Having completed a range of modified cars for big Shaq, such as the one-of-one biggest Corvette in the world, the team revealed that they could have a new Mercedes-Benz S-Class with him within the hour.

However, when payment came around, the young baller told them to put it on his dad’s tab.

Shaquille O’Neal isn’t as easily fooled, though, previously telling an interviewer that he won’t be spoiling his son.

“My kids are older now, and they’re kind of upset with me – not really upset, but they don’t understand because I tell them all the time, ‘We ain’t rich. I’m rich’.”

Still, the car turned up.

The skit saw Shaqir get his father on FaceTime when the car turned up, describing his dream car as ‘a bit of me’.

On this occasion, Shaqir did end up rolling away with the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, although he likely paid for it himself outside of the ‘skit’.

Regardless of who paid, the black luxury sedan is a beautiful gift and a popular choice among celebrities, being low-profile and luxurious in one medley of class.

Shaq has an absolutely wild collection of modded cars

Given his seven-foot-one frame, Shaq has built a well-needed relationship with Effortless Motors in order to redesign cars so he can actually fit in them.

When it comes to sports cars, the team has made the world’s first two-door Lucid Air so that he can get into the driver’s seat.

His Corvette also shows just how much work is needed to be done to fit his frame.

Shaq also has some prime American muscle like the Shaqcat in his garage.

But even when it comes to the bigger SUVs, Effortless and Shaq collab to make some otherworldly beasts.

More befitting for a man of such stature, this heavily modified Apocolypse armored truck combines power with celebrity luxury, and his new Chevy 2500 ZR2 is no joke either.

He isn’t the only celebrity trying to keep his fortune from his kids

Shaquille O’Neal has been quite vocal about keeping his fortune separate from his kids’ earnings, and this same ethos has been adopted by a range of celebrities.

Machine Gun Kelly has spoken out about making his children earn their own way, although he opened up his wallet for a nice set of wheels on his daughter’s 16th birthday.

And it’s a tough day to be Bill Gates’ kids, who will inherit a comparatively tiny amount of his multi-billion-dollar empire.

Gordon Ramsay is the same, although what will happen to his Aston Martin collection isn’t quite as clear.
