Shaq has once again proved that when he wants something, he really doesn’t do things by halves, including commissioning the world’s first Chevy Impala boat.
The NBA legend recently visited the team at Effortless Motors, the custom shop behind his outrageous 1964 Chevrolet Impala boat.
But this time, Shaq wasn’t there to pick up another ridiculous vehicle – he had a surprise of his own for the people who built it.
The basketball legend turned up with expensive custom jewelry for the team, giving them a seriously flashy thank you for bringing his wildest automotive request to life.
Shaq asked for an Impala boat
Car-loving celebrity O’Neal has a relationship with Effortless Motors that has already produced some seriously wild creations, but the 1964 Impala boat might be the most ridiculous yet.
The custom shop built the one-of-one watercraft after Shaq received a restored 1964 Impala and apparently decided that what he really needed next was a boat version.
And Effortless Motors didn’t exactly shy away from the challenge.

The result is a fully functional jet boat dressed up to look like a classic 1964 Chevrolet Impala.
Rather than simply making a real Impala float, the project uses a boat hull underneath the custom bodywork, with the finished creation retaining the unmistakable lowrider-inspired shape of the classic Chevy.
The design was inspired by the gold-colored 1964 Impala driven by Ice Cube in Boyz n the Hood, complete with the distinctive paintwork, chrome details and lowrider styling, and it actually works.
Shaq was able to climb into the cockpit before taking the unusual creation out onto the water himself.
It’s the most Shaq boat you’ve ever seen
The Impala boat was delivered alongside a second custom 1964 Impala that is actually designed for the road.
That car was also modified to accommodate Shaq’s 7-foot-1 frame, including moving the seating position farther back to give the NBA legend the legroom he needs.
The shop also added features including air suspension, a custom sound system and special lighting.
The boat, meanwhile, gives Shaq something considerably harder to find in a car collection: an Impala that can literally cruise across the water.

During its maiden voyage, Shaq took the wheel with members of the Effortless Motors team and managed to attract plenty of attention from people around the lake.
The shop even joked that Shaq had become the ‘first seven-footer to drive a ’64 Impala in the water’.
Considering how many custom cars the former NBA star already owns, that’s quite an achievement.

The former basketball star had a surprise for the people behind it
But when Shaq returned to see the people responsible for the build, he wasn’t just there to admire their handiwork.
Instead, he surprised members of the team with expensive custom jewelry from Solomon Jewelers in Dallas.

It’s a pretty fitting gesture considering how much effort went into creating something that didn’t exist before Shaq asked for it.
Effortless Motors had to take the visual language of a classic lowrider and turn it into a functional watercraft, while also making sure the seven-foot-one owner could actually use it.
And this isn’t the first time the relationship between Shaq and Effortless Motors has gone beyond a normal customer and dealership arrangement.

The NBA legend has worked with the company on numerous unusual vehicles, including a stretched Chevrolet Corvette Z06, custom Teslas and other oversized creations designed around his famously huge frame.
Shaq has also previously described his approach to the company as supporting a young business he believes in, explaining that he likes to support people who are starting out and working hard.
So while the world might see a completely bonkers Impala boat, Shaq appears to see something slightly different: a chance to have fun with cars while rewarding the people who helped make the crazy ideas happen.
And if the next project gets even more ridiculous, I’m starting to wonder what the team could possibly give Shaq that floats, drives, and still has room for his long legs.
