Shaquille O’Neal says he ‘doesn’t know why’ he’s splashed out on 40 cars for his collection.

The NBA legend recently opened up about his spending habits and admitted that he doesn’t know why he let his collection grow so large.

Instead, Shaq – who has an estimated net worth of around $500 million – suggested people be a little more frugal with their money and save rather than spend.

Like many celebrities, Shaq boasts an impressive car collection.

Shaquille O’Neal has an impressive car collection

His enviable garage includes an Apocalypse monster truck, a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Lamborghini Gallardo, and a 1963 Cadilac Eldorado Convertible.

One of his more recent additions was his custom, one-of-a-kind carbon fiber widebody Cybertruck

That isn’t even the only Telsa Cybertruck that he owns, he picked up a second one so that he could keep one in Atlanta and one in Las Vegas.

Also, it was recently revealed he’s now the proud owner of a third

However, it seems as though Shaq may have a few regrets about parting with so much cash to bolster his collection over the years.

Appearing on the Roberto Mtz podcast, Shaq admitted that he ‘didn’t know why’ he’d bought so many flash cars.

“I have 40 cars and I don’t know why,” he said. “I have five houses, I don’t know why.”

He shared some money-saving advice

Offering advice to others who might find themselves in the position to throw around millions of dollars, he said it was better to ‘just save’.

“Don’t even touch it,” he added.

The former sports star has previously urged his fans to make sure they’re saving for their future and not frittering away their hard-earned cash.

“It’s not about how much you make, it’s about how much you keep,” he told CNBC.

“Save 75 percent of your earnings and put it away. Use the other 25 percent as you please.”

Shaq is speaking from experience when it comes to spending over saving.

He previously revealed that he managed to spend $1 million in the space of a few hours.

The super-sized shopping spree included three top-of-the-range Mercedes Benz – one for himself and one each for his parents.

How the other half live.
