Whether you like her music or not, Missy Elliott certainly knows a thing or two about cars.

Celebrities generally buy whatever car screams ‘I GOT MONEY’ the loudest, but Missy Elliott went in a different direction.

The 53-year-old star used to own a Spyker C8, an obscure supercar from The Netherlands.

Now, that car is available on Facebook Marketplace.

The story behind Missy Elliott and her obscure supercar

Missy Elliott’s supercar was first listed back in May, but the listing is still there, so clearly the owner is having a hard time selling it.

The fact that the asking price is $599,000, which is very nearly double the original MSRP, probably plays a part.

Mind you, the car is as good as new, coming in with only 3,880 miles on the clock and spotless red interior and black exterior.

It’s also quite rare, with only 266 examples like this one in existence, only 32 of which made it to the US.

About the Spyker C8

Missy Elliott’s choice is certainly original, whichever way you look at it.

Back in the day, when Missy Elliott first became famous between the 1990s and the 2000s, rappers would generally go for terrible Pimp My Ride-style vehicles.

Meanwhile, everyone seems to be buying a Cybertruck these days, from 2 Chainz to Meek Mill and Lil Baby.

What they certainly don’t do is opt for an unknown Dutch supercar, and it’s a shame, because the Spyker is awesome.

Amazingly, the C8 is technically still in production, still using the same Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V8 as the original model, and still adopting the same design cues.

Missy Elliott’s car, a 2009 Laviolette model, looks basically the same as a 2000 model or a 2019 model.

But the best part about Spyker is the interior, probably one the most over-elaborate, and yet gorgeous, cabins you’ll see.
