Authorities in New York have discovered $3.65 million worth of stolen BMWs and Rolls-Royces in two Bronx parking garages.
New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin has announced that 11 will be charged in connection with the theft ring.
The operation was shipping the stolen vehicles overseas.
The vehicles were being stolen from all over New York and New Jersey, and brought to the parking garages in an effort to avoid detection.

What the cops found when they went to these parking garages in the Bronx
You don’t need to be a car expert or watch the news constantly to know that car theft is a big problem.
Whether they’re being dumped in the desert or sold off in a secret chop shop, stolen cars are seemingly everywhere.
There’s obviously good news stories to be found, where owners are reunited with their cars, as was the case with this Chevrolet Bel Air owner.
But sometimes sophisticated operations can go on for a long while before law enforcement puts an end to the theft.
In the Bronx, authorities from both New York and New Jersey busted a high-end vehicle theft ring.

Cars within the lucrative haul included BMWs, Mercedes, and Land Rovers.
The criminals behind the scheme had been coordinating the thefts from Burlington, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, and Morris counties.
Once taken from the residences, they would be sent to the Bronx parking garages.
From there, they would be sent overseas, primarily to West African countries.
The thieves also had no qualms about breaking into occupied homes in order to secure key fobs.
In one incident, they did so to secure a fob for a $89,000 2024 BMW X5.

In another case, they stole the keys for a 2024 BMW X7 and a 2021 Audi SQ8 – alongside $400 in cash, a driver’s license, a Gucci purse, and two expensive wallets.
Of the cars that could be linked to residential burglaries, the gang also nabbed $542,295 worth of loot.
But that was just a small fraction of their illegal profits.
$3.65 million worth of cars – BMWs, Rolls-Royces, and more
Investigators identified 43 New Jersey vehicles, valued at $3.65 million total, in two parking garages on Jennings Street and Third Avenue.
Other vehicles had to be retrieved from shipping containers heading overseas.

“No one should be afraid that a thief will enter their home while they are sleeping to find their key fobs to steal their car,” Attorney General of New Jersey, Matthew Platkin, said.
In a similar vein, the Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark laid down the law on car crime.
“Millions of dollars worth of stolen vehicles – including a $475,000 Rolls-Royce – were taken to a Bronx parking garage that defendants used as a showroom,” she said.

“We will not tolerate auto crime in the Bronx.”
The 11 people arrested included teenagers and juveniles, as well as older promoters and organizers.
Two figures at the center of the ring face further charges of racketeering, financial crimes, and promoting organized street crime.
