This man in China won the hearts of the internet when he tipped his vehicle sideways in order to save a couple’s wedding luck.

A video has been doing the rounds on social media, in which two vehicles meet on a narrow road.

In one vehicle is a newly-wed couple, and in the other is a man carrying what looks like crops in his car.

What happened next touched a lot of people, and opened up their eyes to a fascinating Chinese tradition.

This Chinese man did a wonderful thing to save a couple’s wedding luck

This video was filmed from the perspective of the wedding couple as they were driving away from their ceremony.

In Chinese culture, it’s considered bad luck for a couple to take the same route back home after a ceremony.

Specifically, this is a widely held belief in the province of Shandong.

After leaving a wedding, the wedding motorcade is expected to travel in one continuous route, avoiding turning around or using the same road twice.

This symbolizes how a marriage means to move forward in life.

This belief can play out in interesting ways – as it did when two wedding convoys ended up stuck on a road for hours as both refused to turn around.

Fortunately, the couple in the video at the center of this article had better luck in preserving their wedding luck.

As they were driving home, they came face-to-face with a man bringing what looked like a harvest in his vehicle.

Recognizing their situation, he leapt out of his vehicle and tipped it over – allowing the wedding party to pass through.

Appreciative of his gesture, some men leapt out of their vehicles to help him put his vehicle upright again.

The man was also given a red envelope of money as a token of gratitude.

The internet applauded the man for his heartwarming gesture

“It’s such a wholesome moment for both convoy and driver,” one admirer wrote on Instagram.

“It’s very important that we value this,” another wrote.

This isn’t the first time that a big gesture has warmed the internet’s collective hearts.

Remember this 86-year-old Uber driver who was a millionaire but was driving for a noble cause?

And there has been many a car restoration video that has had people reaching for tissues – like this widow’s reaction to her late husband’s DeLorean.
