This gorgeous Porsche 963 RSP was created as a one-off street-legal Porsche for Roger Penske, a billionaire you may have never heard of.
Only one exists, and it was built with a specific idea in mind.
Inspired by the equivalent 963 hybrid that Porsche uses at Le Mans, this one-off is street-legal.
And there’s something else that makes this special.

Motorsport fans may have heard of Penske – mainly because all of his (numerous) teams are named ‘Team Penske‘ – but everyone else probably hasn’t.
Hailing from Ohio, Roger Penske is a former racing driver turned racing team owner with a net worth north of $5.7 billion.
One of his teams uses a Porsche 963 hybrid to race at Le Mans, and Penske wanted a one-off, street-legal version of that car.
Pictured below, the Porsche 963 RSP and, behind it, the Porsche 917 that inspired it

The street-legal Porsche 963 RSP is based on the 963 but also inspired by the iconic 917, which is a great combo.
It leaked a few days ahead of the launch, and the good news is the leak was accurate, in that the final product looks exactly as spectacular as the vehicle was saw as part of the leak.

It uses a 671-horsepower, 4.6-liter V8 that can rev up to 10,000rpm, like a motorcycle.
This is actually the same engine as the Le Mans car, but it has been tweaked to make it slightly smoother, and it runs on regular gasoline.
The carbon fiber body was also revised, and the car was also fitted with softer suspension, brakes that are a bit less brutal, as well as new taillights and headlights to comply with regulations.
It even comes with a convenient backup camera.
The only thing that’s completely wild is the way you start: you don’t need a key or a key card, nope, you start with a laptop.

We don’t know whether Penske actually intends to drive it on the road, and something else we don’t know is the price.
Paradoxically, the absence of a publicly available price tag makes it even more special.
Considering what this is and who it was built for, this is surely one of the most expensive street-legal supercars ever made, and almost certainly the most expensive new Porsche supercar ever.
